摘要:Natural polymers are divided into protein-origin polymers and polysaccharidic polymers. Natural-origin polymers have received extensive interest in the bioconjugation field in recent years. Protein-origin polymers have recently emerged as a promising new class of bioconjugated materials, including collagen, gelatin, silk protein, and other proteins such as fibrin and elastin. Olysaccharides are a class of biopolymers that consist of simple sugar monomers linked together by O-glycosidic bonds that endow polysaccharides with the capacity to form both linear and branched polymers. Natural polysaccharides have been the recipients of increasing attention in the biomedical field as a carrier in targeted drug and gene delivery systems as well as scaffold materials in tissue engineering applications, for example, chitosan, cellulose, dextran, cycloamylose, pullulan, and pectin. Other polysaccharides have also been found in abundance, are widely available and inexpensive, and have a variety of structures and properties due to their similarity with biological macromolecules. ? 2014 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
