摘要:Stable aqueous dispersion of carbon black is essential in conductive, optical, and energy-related applications, but remains challenging due to its hydrophobic and highly aggregated nature. Herein, we present a series of structurally modular triblock copolymer PAA-b-PS-b-P(MPEGAA) dispersant synthesized via RAFT polymerization, designed to integrate multiple interfacial interactions-including hydrogen bonding, pi-pi stacking, electrostatic repulsion, and steric stabilization-within a single but tunable architecture. Each block contributes synergistically to anchoring and stabilization, and their molecular parameters can be precisely tailored to optimize dispersion behavior. Compared to representative high-performance commercial dispersants, this platform achieves superior dispersion efficiency and long-term colloidal stability for high-surface-area carbon black. This work demonstrates a generalizable strategy for designing precision polymeric dispersants adaptable to a broad range of challenging aqueous nanoparticle systems.
