摘要:The reliable discharge of pulverized coal from the high-pressure lock hopper is crucial for the dry feeding process in entrained-flow gasification. However, challenges persist due to the unclear gas-solid interaction and the difficulty in predicting the relative packing density (RPD). A comparative analysis of RPD characteristics of pulverized coal at various pressurization rates was conducted using ideal spherical glass bubbles. The results showed that the RPD of the powder bed was mainly affected by the void fraction at a smaller pressurization rate; as the pressurization rate increased, the pressure drop formed by gas permeation dominated the RPD at a steady state. A mathematical model, based on the microelement method of force analysis, was developed in order to relate the RPD to the normal stress measured with standard powder compressibility testers. The generally agreement of the new model was found to be in the range of +/- 15 %.
