摘要：It has been a national strategy to build Shanghai into an international financial center which can be comparable to London, New York and Hong Kong. While, there's still a wide gap between Shanghai and other mature international financial centers on the current economic and financial development. This article focuses on one of the most important branches of the financial market-the insurance industry, which has played an important role in promoting the coordinated development of Shanghai's economy, and accelerating the construction of the international financial center. Meanwhile, we'll analyze the shortcomings of Shanghai insurance industry with reference to the development of mature international financial centers and the international standards, discuss the growing path of Shanghai insurance industry in advancing the process of building an international financial center.
