摘要:NOVELTY - A carbon electrode material is prepared by placing carbon rich precursors in carbonizing furnace; heating in presence of inert atmosphere; cooling; subjecting cooled material to ball mill; mixing obtained powder and potassium hydroxide; heating obtained mixture; cooling naturally; washing with water; and drying. USE - Method of preparing a carbon electrode material (claimed) for a high-energy-density super capacitor. ADVANTAGE - The method prepares carbon electrode material having an improved energy and power concentration. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A carbon electrode material is prepared by: (A) placing carbon rich precursors having 10-500 mu m grain diameter in carbonizing furnace; (B) heating at 400-900 degrees C for 0.5-5 hours in presence of inert atmosphere with a temperature gradient of 2-10 degrees C/minute; (C) cooling; (D) subjecting cooled material to ball mill to obtain powder having a grain diameter of 4-30 mu m; (E) mixing obtained powder and potassium hydroxide having a concentration of greater than 90% at a weight ratio of 1:3-6; (F) heating obtained mixture at 100-250 degrees C with a temperature gradient of 2-10 degrees C; (G) increasing the temperature to 300-500 degrees C for chemical dehydration for 0.5-3 hours; (H) increasing the temperature further to 700-1000 degrees C for catalysis for 0.5-3 hours; (I) cooling naturally; (J) washing with water; and (K) drying. The carbon precursors are refinery coke, pitch coke, coconut or apricot shell, wood or bamboo.
