摘要：语义韵是当代语料库语言学研究中的一个重要对象。本文从一组英语近义词Heritage和Legacy入手,以BNC(英国国家语料库)作为研究的语料资源来源,深入探讨heritage和legacy的不同的使用语域,以及两个词的语义韵。本文试图通过对适用语域和语义韵的研究,来讨论这一组近义词之间是否存在差异。研究发现,heritage和legacy虽然是近义词,却有着不同的语义韵,且使用的语域也不相同。
Semantic prosody is an important research object in contemporary corpus linguistics. This article aims to analyze the distribution difference of words ＂heritage＂ and ＂legacy＂ in different registers via British National Corpus （BNC） from a corpus linguistic aspect. Moreover, the semantic prosody of these two synonyms has been analyzed and compared in this article. The result shows that although the two words are synonyms, their register distribution in BNC and semantic prosody are different from each other.
