摘要：NOVELTY - A modified styrene-type acidic cation exchange resin contains styrene-type-loaded inorganic acid, organic acid, and/or Lewis acid in which total weight of exchange resin is 100 wt.% and each amount of styrene-type loaded inorganic acid, organic acid, and/or Lewis acid is 0.1-30 wt.%. USE - Modified styrene-type acidic cation exchange resin for preparing polyoxymethylene dimethyl ether (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The acidic cation exchange resin has improved selectivity by 10-40 percent. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) application of modified styrene-type acidic cation exchange resin for preparing polyoxymethylene dimethyl ether (PODE) which involves reacting resin to mixture of methanol and formaldehyde, methylal and trioxymethylene, methylal and p-formaldehyde, methanol, formaldehyde, and p-formaldehyde, methanol, formaldehyde, and trioxymethylene, or methylal, trioxymethylene, and p-formaldehyde; and (2) preparation of modified styrene-type acidic cation exchange resin which involves impregnating styrene-type acidic cation exchange resin in aqueous or alcohol solution of Lewis acid for 24 hours, removing Lewis acid-loaded styrene type acidic cation exchange resin, drying at room temperature, and drying at 70-150 degrees C.
