摘要：Information retrieval plays an important role for scientific and technical novelty retrieval, which provides useful information for the competitive intelligence analysis. The study of improving novelty retrieval effectiveness was performed. Based on subjects, we discussed the effects of the information analysis of subjects, the selection of search terms, the selection of information sources, and the construction of search formulations on novelty retrieval effectiveness in detail. Moreover, the effect of chemical structure search for the chemical subjects on the novelty retrieval effectiveness was analyzed. Some suggestions were put forward to improve the information retrieval effectiveness for the novelty retrieval.
