摘要：Using supplier-customer relationship data, this paper investigates the impact of Green Factory Identification (GFI) on Chinese listed companies' overseas supply chain participation (OSCP). Our findings indicate that GFI serves a dual purpose as both an environmental regulation and a green certification, promoting firms' OSCP through green performance enhancement and green signal transmission effects. Larger firms and those with higher customer concentration are more likely to expand internationally after obtaining GFI, while the improvement in OSCP is more pronounced in regions with greater government focus on environmental issues. The impact is particularly significant when customers are located in countries with higher green barriers to trade or possess greater centrality within the global production network. Furthermore, GFI also facilitates the domestic customers of the certified firms to engage more actively in the overseas supply chain. Our study provides valuable insights for policymakers in response to emerging international green rules. ? 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.
