摘要：基于2001年国家统计局对5926家美国公司调查数据,采用条件Logit模型实证分析了社会信任对FDI区位选择的影响机制。结果表明:社会信任对吸引美国直接投资者存在显著的正向影响;经济制度对社会信任存在正向调节作用,完善的合同执行和产权保护制度会扩大该正向影响;此外,该影响和调节作用在企业规模和类型上存在差异。在考虑了信任水平测度问题以及放宽了模型IIA假设后,该结论依然稳健。
Recent studies have proved the important role of social trust in international trade.Based on the NBS’s survey of 5,926 US multinational manufacturing companies investing in 27 China’s regions in 2001,this paper uses Conditional Logit model to examines the influence of social trust on FDI location choice.The results show that,firstly,social trust plays an important role in explaining FDI location choice.US multinationals tends to choose regions with higher social trust.Secondly,there is a complementary effect between social trust and economic institutions.That is,the social trust will promote more FDI in regions with more perfect contract enforcement and property rights protection.Thirdly,the influence and complementary effect have heterogeneity in enterprise size and type.After considering the measurement of social trust and relaxing the IIA hypothesis,the conclusion remains robust.
