摘要:Pure ZnO particles with a uniform size of 20-30 nm were synthesized by spray pyrolysis under the optimum operation conditions: reactor temperature above 650 degrees C, solution concentration of 0.40-0.50 M, solution flow rate of 4.0-5.0 ml/min, and air pressure of 0.45-0.55 MPa. The ultrafine ZnO powder has excellent ultraviolet (UV) cutoff characteristics, therefore, it is an ideal raw material for cosmetics to shield UV light. The mechanism of ultrafine particle formation during spray pyrolysis is proposed. Micrometer precursor particles consisting of nanometer primary particles are formed after solvent evaporation, then the primary particles are separated by an "explosion" caused by an acute pyrolysis reaction to form ultrafine aggregate-free particles.
